parsing parasolids file

Hello:
So what I'm trying to do is read parasolids export (x_t) files, which contain 3d cad data in text format. Mostly keyword-value pairs, and comments. As you read the file, the data has to be translated into the internal cad structure. Would irony be a good fit for this application, or is it overkill?

well, looking at one example I could find -

  • it appears the file has some complex but regular structure that is fit for describing by formal BNF grammar; so it's worth trying with Irony. Give it a shot.
